Family participation is not only welcomed in our MetroSquash community; it is crucial for our program's success. MetroSquash staff stay in close contact with parents. Every MetroSquash family participates in 2 family visits per year, in which parents, students and MetroSquash staff get an opportunity to connect and set goals for the coming semester. MetroSquash families are encouraged to attend squash matches, go on field trips, attend college visits and volunteer at various MetroSquash community events. A group of parent leaders also come together to form the MetroSquash Parent Committee, a group of parent leaders who give feedback on the program and lead various community initiatives. Given the pathway structure of the MetroSquash program, it is common to see participation expand from a given student to their siblings, cousins and close friends.
Parent and guardian participation is always encouraged. MetroSquash families are invited to attend squash matches, go on field trips, attend college visits and volunteer at various MetroSquash events throughout the year. At the end of each semester, families participate in a program-wide celebration of our student's accomplishments.
MetroSquash parent volunteer opportunities have included:
- Fall Try-outs
- Officers Squash Day
- MetroSquash Open House
- Holiday Celebrations
- Year-End Celebration

Parents and guardians come together to form the MetroSquash Parent Committee. The role of the Parent Committee is to:
- Give input and feedback regarding the MetroSquash Program
- Take a leadership role as volunteers at various MetroSquash events
- Act as an informed liaison for other parents within the MetroSquash community
- Lead or participate in Parent Workshops
- Chaperone on various team trips, as needed.
